Can't delete a folder

I have a folder that contains one file. I've tried deleting it with My Computer. It seems to work but when I restart My Computer, it's back again! When I checked the folder's properties it said it was read only. What can I do to get rid of this folder? Using XP.

Try dragging and dropping to recycle bin, if neccessary in safe mode.

Is it a folder/file you created or was it installed via a program?

If it was installed via a program that you still have on your computer the program could be recreating the folder when Windows reboots and you will not be able to delete it.
