Photoshop Help problem

Still having problem with help file coming up blank, although it is in the program file and opens in windows explorer. Can anyone suggest why a program won't uninstall through control panel or why alternatively I cannot reinstall from the original disc.Gets as far as preparing setup and then stops. Is there a clue in that no file size for CS3 is shown in the control panel? I have tried the previous suggestions I received without luck.

Did you try the CScleaner tool? This wasn't available when I had the same problem with CS3. Like many others at that time a reformat of the drive was the only way to re-install CS3
