Packard Bell Dot S Netbook - Slow

Hi there,

I'm looking for some advice with my netbook, its only a few months old but ever since I bought it new it has been very slow in general. I realise its never going to be super quick but...

The specs are as follows, Packard bell dot s, windows 7 starter, Intel atom N450 processor, 1GB ram, 250GB hard drive.

It has nothing stored on it, as its mainly just using for browsing the internet.

Do you think the 1GB ram is holding it back a little, and would it be of much noticeable benefit upgrading to 2gb?

Thanks, John

Sure, the RAM upgrade will help. Try scanning your laptop for viruses. Cut down on the programs that startup using msconfig by pressing Win + R and then typing msconfig. Try defragmenting your hard drive. If it is a SSD hard drive (super expensive) then DON'T! Try CCleaner.
