Renaming pictures

Windows Vista. I often have to add a short date (eg 1 Sep) to a picture title. When I select and press F2, the name is highlighted to type over. Is there a way to keep the name and type the date after it?

The easiest way is to use the mouse and click in the title box at the end of the title you want to remove the highlighting and then type the date. If the text is simply highlighted any key board action will delete it.

Worth noting is that if you click the title box once, allow a second or two and click again this will do the same as the key.

"If the text is simply highlighted any key board action will delete it."

the right-arrow key won't delete the text, it'll just remove the highlighting same as in your method using the mouse.
