i live in a very old cottage with very thick walls and the cottage is split into two houses. My parent live in one end and me in the other - however we have 2 seperate main electricity circuits. My parents have the internet and a router etc but we cannot get the signal down our end of the house. We have been told that we need a range extender with an ethenet cable because we are on 2 seperate electricity circuits. Can someone please advise me exactly what i need to buy.

Thanks

You need a Range Extender as described here enter link description here

There a numerous makes and prices - go for the latest Wireless-N Range.

Post back if you need further help - others may have recommendations ( I don't ues or have the need for one)

You can also use an Access Point connected with Internet Router using ethernet cable. This will boost signal strenght in your house.
