I own a Nakamichi 1 amplifier which is around 15 years old. I want to be able to play mp3 music through it from an external hard drive. Can I do this, considering it has no digital outputs? An analogue/digital converter perhaps?

I haven't a clue how to do this but how are going to get the mp3 off harddrive if it isn't connected to a pc? Perhaps line out from pc to amp?

I thought that if I buy a media box, connect it to the hard drive, then put a digital to analogue converter between the media box and the amplifier....?
