I suspect I should know what I need to do, but I am stumped. Many different questions, but one at a time. I have inherited/obtained a PC and have reformatted the drive. It has a copied OS CD with it and a Product Key on the chassis, the Product key is for XP Home, I have wrongly installed XP Professional, and it refuses to install Home when I go through the procedure to install it, telling me a later edition is already installed.

Home edition would be legal, how do I install it now ?
