'Java (TM) Platform'-Does it need to start up?

Hi, i see that the above is ticked in msconfig to start up, please can someone tell me if it is needed to? OS is Vista.

Oh and there is a bluetooth icon in the bottom right hand corner that starts up every time but it's not ticked in msconfig?

You must have used a Bluetooth connection sometime, maybe your Mobile Phone or Camera perhaps. If you right-click on the icon you should get the option to Exit!
