Home network problems

I have both a windows 7 and an XP computer conected to a Virgin supplied netgear router with ethernet cables. I can't make a home network. Can anyone give me help. Clive

Hi Fruit Bat,

Thank you for your comprehensive help with my windows7/windowsXP hone network. I now have an up and working Home network with both compurers sharing one printer via my router.
