Backup problem despite flash drive free capacity

I have two sets of data files one of which is 650MB and the other 15MB with backups stored on an 8GB flash drive of which 6.5GB is shown as free space. Nevertheless both these data sets, for Outlook and Money respectively, refuse to backup stating that the backup destination is full. The Money problem has existed for several months, but the Outlook problem has just now appeared. Other data sets can be backed up onto the flash drive without problems. Any suggestions?

Try going to Computer - right click on your Flash Drive - Properties - Tools - Error Checking - Check Now - this will check drive for Errors. Can't say if this will solve your problem.

I don't know what method of backup you're using, but have you tried simply copying the relevant data files from your computer's HDD on to the flash drive, using Windows Explorer?
