Format a RAW disk

I have a 4GB thumb drive that was formatted by Ubuntu, which I no longer use.
When I try to re-format it in windows (XP), it cannot find the necessary infomation. No size, format type, sectors etc.
I assume I can format it DOS using the Command mode (CMD), but what numbers would I neeed to enter. Required are the following: /FS: (File system) --I assume Fat32 or Fat /A: (size)- Would I assume 4096 (4 x 1024kb) /T: (tracks) ? /N: (Sectors) ?
Perhaps , if you have a 4gb thumb drive, you could look at the specs and let me know.
Thanks
Terry

Click here and download the HP USB tool - that should do it.

Thanks Lastchip.
I (after a lot of reading ) have found a way to do it.
As the disk was reconised in my computer, but all the necessary formatting data was lost, I used the following system
Open My Computer to the drive with the problem
Right Click Properties
Select Hardware
Properties
Volumes Click Populate
This gave the disk the disk type as FAT, from there I went to Disk Management and was able to create a partion and format it
