Unable to use RDC

Hi guys I am unable to use RDC to connect to my wife's pc, I used to do this all the time when weused xp pro, now we use win 7. We are all conected though a home network through a wi fi router, I can access various folders through the network but when I try RDc I get prompted to enter the wife credentials (none are set for logon)when I select enter the message "the local security authority could not be contacted" this is now driving me nuts, can somebody help

Are you trying to use RDP to connect to Windows 7 Premium or Starter.??
Important note: Remote desktop is only included in the Professional, Business, or Ultimate versions of Windows. Home editions do not have remote desktop.
