Tiny characters when completing online forms?

My friends laptop has this problem, the characters are really tiny.

Without clouding the issue, I suspect someone has put a counterfeit version of XP on it. When I looked at Computer Properties, it said a strange version of XP. Any ideas?

Some tips here to change desktop style , fonts and colours etc., Windows help.

Personally I'd go for a restore.

PS., if it's only the zoom feature that is too small then press CTRL key and hold and turn the wheel on the mouse if using one. Otherwise right click on the top tool bar and select status bar in IE. On the bottom status bar select the zoom level required.
