Al;though I set the Tools Options to spellcheck words in uppercase and words containing numbers these settings are not saved - nor other settings regarding quick saves. what is the problem, and how can I remedy it?

I run Word 2003

If you have previously saved your settings then try this - Tools - Microsoft Office 2003 - My Settings Wizard. You should get the option to "restore previous saved settings to this machine"

I don't know if this works in 2003 but if you have a look in Control Panel - Add/Remove programs (XP) or Programs & Features (Win7) highlight your MS Office 2003 program in the list and you should get the option to repair.

Ex plorer, its in: Word 2003 | Tools | Options | Spelling & Grammar tab | and tick or untick the various options listed - 'Ignore words in UPPERCASE' 'Ignore words with numbers' etc. Don't forget to Click on OK when finished.
