acer lap top will not boot

I have an acer travel mate laptop that will not boot it when started up it goes to a blank screen saying please remove disk or any other media and press any key, their is no media cards or disks in.

What happens if you press a key?

looks as if it not finding your hard drive.

Do you know how to remove it? Take it out and refit it to remake the connections and retry to boot

This error occurs because the machine cannot find an operating system on your HDD or DVD drive.

What operating system XP? Vista? W7?
