JAVA/Exdoer.CE & CFJava viruses

Hi all
Avira free has just found these two viruses - I have moved one into quarantine and deleted it but avira does not seem to be letting me access the other one - do you think it has deleted both or should I do another scan?
Are they particularly dangerous - I understand that they can exploit loopholes in Java - do I need to uninstall Java and then reinstall
I seem to have Java 6 Update 13 and Java SE Runtime Environment 6 - are these the most up to date and therefore immune to the virus. Any ideas where I may have picked up the virus from?
Thanks as ever for any help!

I have Java 6 update 26 which will soon be updated again. Personally I'd remove Java using programs and features then run mallwarebytes and Superantispyware. Delete all they find and reboot. Run a scan with Avira again and if clean reinstall the latest Java.

Thanks - I'll try that - I wonder why I haven't been getting Java updates?
