I'm i missing something here wipe my 3 year old computer and reinstalled Vista via the recovery disk could not activate it reinstalled again using a full version of vista again could not activate all i get is it's on another computer of coarse it is it was on two at one time not anymore. But this has never been a problem in the past as i've activated via the phone this option seems no longer avaible how long has this been in force? I now have two usless Vista disks.

The following Microsoft Knowledge Base article (dated just last month) says that you can still activate by phone.

If you use the recovery disks to reinstall it will activate during the install automatically (or should do) if you are connected to the internet.

No it did not activate after the recovery disk was used hence my thread.

Then contact the supplier. Sounds as you've bought one of the top sellers such as Dell, Toshiba etc. See what they have to say.
