Opening one program from another

I have a spreadsheet & another program which I use together & want to start them at the same time.

Have tried recording an auto open macro in the spreadsheet to open the other program but no luck.

Anyone any ideas how to do this.

You could create a simple batch file to open (a) Excel and the specific spreadsheet and (b) your other program. Running the .bat file would then open both simultaneously.
