Media player - sound but no picture

When I view video content on some news website it uses media player (embedded) to display the footage. However, the media player only displays the logo and audio without any video. This is on an XP sp3 machine. I get nothing at all on a second pc but on a old laptop it works fine. All run on XP sp3. It works fine on my Dell windows 7 laptop too. I'm not sure what version media players are installed on each machine. Is there a easy solution to this?

I think you're missing some codecs, try downloading "divx" and "xvid" to see if this helps.

Download and let it install all known codecs. Ie, default installation.
