I have used ABBYY Fine Reader 4.0 Sprint for years without bother.

If you are a Microsoft Office user you may have OneNote (depends on version). This has an excellent OCR function, but few people seem to know this.

I have "Abbyy Finereader 4 professional" which came free with a mag back in Nov 2002.

It has a reg num.You can have it if it will work with your setup.
