usb drive win 98 and xp

I need to take some date from an old win 98 system to a vista laptop the only method to do this is with a usb stick vista recognises the usb but win 98 doesn't - it searches for the driver but as it isnt connected to the net can't find it so the question is - will the usb work with win 98 and vista and if so how do I get the drivers onto the win 98 pc thanks for any help

I have some software for win98 that enables a USB drive, size of software 47mb, which consists of 5 parts.If you want I can Winzip it and send you a copy.If so please let me know your Email address.

His windows 98 system has working USB

However 98 does not have generic drivers for memory sticks (not invented when 98 came out)

the machine has no internet connection and his CD drive is broken so he cannot download drivers or install from CD.

The only solution is to take the HD out and put it in a Caddy, then

Or possibly to link the 2 PCs with a CAT5 cable but I think that that could bring a similar set of problems.

Fruit Bat /\0/\ if you look at my reply above you will see a link to download mem stick drivers, which is what I did to make a stick work on W98. David
