No ringtones category on iTunes.

I am trying to save custom ringtones to my iPhone 3GS, but when I click on the device symbol, there is no "Ringtones" catagory as there should be. I have looked for the sync ringtone section on iTunes to no avail. I am going nuts trying to figure this out, please help.
