My screen went dead & the bios fault alrm went off. Two short beeps then one long beep. Looked it up and it says video fault. Took out my graphix card & cleaned fans etc, but still get alarm noise. If I change my graphix card will this solve this fault? or is there some sort of video circuitry on the Motherboard that could have a fault. Don't want to spend money on a new card if the board is at fault - will just get a new system in that case.

Have a look here. http://www.computerhope.com/beep.htm most likely a graphics card fault.

Can you try your old card in another machine?

This will tell you if card or motherbord.

Unfortunately my other computer is not PCI Express, so can't swap the board. I don't really know anyone who would let me mess about with their system. Will just have to buy a new card & see what happens
