unknown contacts in address book I can't delete !

Hi, Please keep any answers simple ! When clicking on my 'contacts' it lists all my legitimate contacts. When I click on 'To' on a new e-mail 2 contacts appear that I have no knowledge of, can't 'view details' and can't delete. Virgin Media Security has detected no viruses.
How did they get there and how do I get rid of them safely ?
Thanks

Just found one ! inviting me to be a 'friend'. rejected it and it has now disappeared. The other one is still there but can't find an invite or anything like the other.

Address book entries are derived from your Contacts folder. Try deleting them there.
