Slow opening of IE8

When I now start IE8, there is a brief appearance of outline on screen, then a wait of about 7-8 seconds before the 'egg-timer' appears, then it connects. It has been like this for only the past 4 days or so. Is it a sign of further problems, and any tips on how I may correct it? I installed IE8 about 6 weeks ago. Any advice much appreciated.

Try typing ipconfi /flushdns into command prompt.

It should tell you dns cache has been flushed.If so reboot and see if it makes any difference.

Press the fix it and see if that helps.

Make sure you are using compatibility view under tools.

And also make sure all of your add-ons are enabled.
