Hi One of my sons inserted Win7 on an old DELL Laptop: Unfortunately it keeps shutting down> I have tried my hardest to reinstall XP but no Chance. I want to format the hard drive: Have tried WIN7 VISTA-anything to get it formatted. Any help would be appreciated.

http://www.killdisk.com/ download version 4.01 burn to CD and boot the machine from the CD. Use kill disk to wipe the drive then your XP CD should be able to see the drive and format it during setup.
