At the moment I run IE9. Was thinking of changing to Chrome or Firefox. If I change will IE9 still stay on my computer so I can revert to it if wanted?

Yes it stays on the computer and you can use it whenever you want.

When you install your alternative browser, you will be asked (or will have the option) to set it as your default browser. If, every time you click a link, you want it to open up in your new browser, you should choose this. As Buteman says, IE will stay on your system - and you'll probably want to keep it there because you'll occasionally find web sites that work better with IE.
