I run Windows XP Professional on a Sony VAIO laptop. Yesterday mt computer sbooted up then shut down immediately with the message IRQLNOTLESSOREQUAL

Technical Info: * STOP: ox0000000A (0x00000054, 0x000000IC, 0x0000000I, 0x80502cca) Begin dump of physical memory. Physical memory dump complete.

What does thid mean? Cause? Solution.

Had you installed or connected any additional hardware prior to this reboot? If so, that might have caused a conflict. Otherwise, try booting the Last Known Good Configuration.

mgmcc is probably right but in addition take a look about half way down this page where you should find some trouble shooting methods.
