Anyway to use a laptop as an alarm clock?

Greetings:

Just gave my old clock radio to charity and I just realized I need to get up in a few weeks for an important appointment. Is there anyway to use a laptop as an alarm clock? I use Vista Basic Home Edition. Does the software exist already with this type of OS or do I have to download some software (hopefully freeware BTW) if this is in fact possible. Any advice given is greatly appreciated.

If you have a Calendar application installed it may offer an audio alarm, but using the alarm in a mobile phone is probably a simpler option.

This is only one of many examples of what you're looking for. Just Google 'free alarm clock software' and choose... :-)
