No display on laptop

Acer Aspire 5100.

No laptop display. Also does not display to external monitor.

Popped a known working backlight into the inverter and it didnt light that up.

Replaced the inverter but still doesnt light up my test lamp, and still doesnt display image on screen or external monitor.

Safe to say the graphics card/chip is the culprit now?

If an external monitor didn't work I think it was a safe bet then to say that it was the graphics card/chip rather than the backlight or inverter. Even if the backlight or inverter has gone you can usually see something on a laptop screen by front lighting it with a torch.
