Ok i've had this laptop for a while now and I kind of dropped it causing it too only turn on and let me enter BIOS...and that is it. I cannot get past the BIOS screen(right at the beginning) Also i tried to reset my BIOS to default etc etc, nothing changed. But then if you leave it for a while it comes up with this message.

" YUKON PXE v5.12.1.13(20060316) (C)Copyright 2003-2006 Marvell(R). All rights reserved. Pre-boot eXecution Envirmoent (PXE) v2.1 (C)Copyright 1997-2000 Intel Coporation. PXE-E61:Media test failure, check cable PXE-MOF: Exiting PXE ROM Operating system not found"

As i have no idea about laptops i thought i'd get some advice on what needs to be done. I've never opened a laptop up before either but i would if there where clear instructions etc.

Think you will find the Hard Drive as become detached from its socket a bit, under the laptop or at the edge at the back of a plate. no need for it all to come apart

At a guess, I'd say you've damaged its hard drive - dropping it would certainly do that. "Media test failure" and "Operating system not found" would tend to confirm that diagnosis. Replacinga hard drive in a laptop isn't too difficult - I've done it myself, and I'm no tech - but you'll possibly/probably have lost everything that was on your old hard drive. If that's important to you, you might want to visit a specialist.

Woodchip's diagnosis is probably better - and could be less critical....
