A friend has a new Acer Aspire 5742 laptop with Win 7 Home Premium and USB connected headphones. These have been used for Skype on another computer and worked perfectly. Using them for the same purpose on the laptop results in the mike working properly but the sound coming out of the computer speakers. Have gone into Control Panel/Hardware and Sound/Manage Audio Devices, clicked on Speakes and Headphones then OK. Result - no change! Am I missing something or do the Skype settings need to be changed also? Any thoughts/solutions/suggestions received with thanks.
