viewing video downloads

Acer aspire1 netbook running win 7 with mozilla 4 browser : I always have difficulty viewing downloaded videos due to slow b/band connection.........so I stop the play until the whole clip has downloaded. this works fine, but I find then that a replay will go back to buffering, when the "play line" shows that it has the whole content !

can somebody explain to me what's happening and if I can get it to work better ?
