IE7 favorites

Had to do a System Restore last night, as lost most desktop icons. Now find tha tFavorites are missing from IE7. Is there a way of retrieving them? They are in the usual folder in C/documents and settings/..Any advice much appreciated, bit lost here.

Found the trouble, all the Favorites had been changed to 'Hidden', (maybe caused by a virus?) so up and running again.
