My wife had a problem with avirus and we have formated and re-installed now using windows 7 as opposed to Vista. Her machine is an evsham with AMD 64 x2 2gb memory. We seem to have lost files on the re-intsll of docs.Using Recuva.com but still files are missing. Can you help windows 7 is new to me I still use XP Pro

I'm afraid the docs have probably been overwritten by the new op system

"we have formated" means that you wiped clean all the files on the Harddrive.

Unless you first saved a copy of your My Documents data to a separate media (ext HDD or usb stick or burnt them to cd/dvd) they are gone.

Thanks once again I have managed to recover all the files but this just shaows how good this forum is

It would be useful to know how you managed to recover the files from a formatted HDD so that others with same problem can be helped.

Or maybe you just did an install from Vista to W7 and the files were saved somewhere.
