Trojan:WinNT/Alureon.S

Hi,

The Trojan in the title now appears to have downloaded to my laptop. I'm running Windows XP Home with MS Security Essentials. I've done a Full Scan.

Trojan:WinNT/Alureon.S was detected and my MS Security essentials reports that it was removed but it is clearly still here!

I can access internet via MS Security Essentials but cannot access any other programs or files.

A program called Windows XP Recovery has also appeared with an option to Fix Errors.

Advice as to how I get rid of this Trojan will be most welcome.

Cheers!

or maybe try this.

To remove false security programs

  1. Turn off computer ,then turn on and start tapping F8
  2. When the Advanced startup options appear Select Safe mode With Networking
  3. Open internet explorer goto google.com ,download Hitman pro "32-bit or 64-bit depending on your Os"
  4. Run Hitman pro ,let this scan the computer
  5. Activate Free Licence
  6. Reboot Pc

Infection Removed..!

Thanks for your advice. Much appreciated. I tried both approaches but neither was successful (probably due to me doing something wrong).

Anyway, my local IT shop removed the Trojan for me and did some other good stuff for not too much money.

Once again, thanks for your advice.
