I have recently bit the bullet and bought a new computer. It came with W7 Pro pre installed. I have an 80gb SSD as my C drive. There are also three pairs of 1Tb drives set up as Raid 1. What I would like to do is to keep my OS and a small number of applications on my C drive. I have an I/ drive that I wish to use for my documents. How can I force programmes to install to I/ drive by default? How can I turn off homegroup and libraries and just have my tried and trusted "My Documents" on I/ drive by default?

When you install programs always choose custom install then you will have the choice of where to install to.

However some programs (like Norton) will not let you install to anywhere except the system default drive (usually C:) so don't make C: too small to begin with.
