Help with HP Atom BIOS Please!

HI all... Been given a friends HP Atom net book to enable the admin account to recover his profile, but find myself unable to get into the bios so that I can boot from my Win7 disc to get into the recovery console. I think I have exhausted every button that I know of? a search said it was F10 but that doesn't seem to work. Also this stupid HP interface loads with Mail Web and Music options which you have to exit before windows starts loading... Can this be turned off from the HP desktop thing? I was hoping to have this dam thing done by now but until I can get into the bios I'm sort of stuck. Any help with this dilemma would be greatly appreciated!! Why can't these manufacturers keep things simple and stick to a unified key rather than making you search the ends of the earth just to get into your own system.... ARGHHHHH!!

Regard ZL
