xp2007 windows do not open

The problem sees to come from an earlier installation from Works or something else which the OfficeXP installation does not overwrite in the registry.

What has worked for some people is to Start - Run -Type regedit to open the registry, use the "find" function which finds a key referring to the "missing" file.

First exported the key, just in case, and then deleted it, reboot and the problem should begone. So long as you first export the key you could reimport it if the deletion caused problems with Office.

Hi thank you for reply It did stop the installer asking fo the file 'sberet.msi' but still wont open any windows programs so any other possible ansers gratfully received

When you say Windows Programs, do you mean Office Programs? or Everything

hi its all the office programs but the installer opens when ever you click on any program when I looked in event viewer its saying '' shared\ink\ INKOBJ.dll'' missing I take it this is part of the problem but im not a whiz at this sort of thing this is the first real problem I have had, the program was windows 98 with office 97 small business edition installed on this computer in the year 2000 and has been updated as they have been released
