I purchased a Netgear 300 Dual Band Router. The saleman said I needed a USB adaptor he sold me a Netgear 300 adapter which was not dual Band.

When I connected to the Internet with one PC it connected to the 2.8 G band. When I connected to a second PC a laptop it connected to the 5 G band & it now asks me to manually click on an icon in the bottom right corner to connect. Is this correct & is 5GG faster than 2.8 band.
