System restore

Today i did a system restore on my notebook.i decided to restore it to the original retore point,and received the error 0x80070005.It was recommended that i turn off my anti virus,and try again,this was also not sucessfull. This was on an Acer Aspire with Windows 7 64 bit,Avast anti virus,any thoughts folks?

Try it again, but this time in Safe Mode.

Thanks Nontek and Woodchip,that worked a treat.also uninstalled Zone Alarm,which may or may not have been the problem.Ithink i will be ok with the Windows 7 firewall.
