Hi all, not been on here in a while

my problem is recently purchased a 2.5" hard disk caddy as i had a unused hard disk. When i put the USB wire into the computer the disk is appearing as local disk on the computer(as if its installed within the the computer) is there a way to changing the disk to appear as removable storage? Its causing problems as some computers i need to use it on isnt allowing some functions due to security polices etc

thanks for anyway help Martin

You probably need to format it as a non-bootable drive. Look in 'Control Panal/Administrative Tools/Computer Management/Disk Management' find the drive and check its attributes; if it is a 'System' disk reformat as a 'normal' drive.
