how do I stop microsoft update

Windows 7

have just retored from a serious crash caused by critical update on 18th- pc up and running but has got the update there again on Shut Down Button ( installs updates and shuts down computer ) how do i stop this from happening and remove it from shut down - as I dont want to go through the last hour again

Click Start, type Windows Update, then go to settings and see if you can stop it there or block the one that is causing you the problem.

Run the windows update manually and when said update appears click on it and a box should open underneath Just tick the box not to show update again.

OK done and its disappered off the shut down button
