flashing ads

rencently purchased Acer computer. All working fine until a couple of days ago. When my homepage came on (MSN) ads started flashing in top right hand corner, very anoying, would not stop. I found that if I go to tools, then safety, then Active x filtering the ads stop flashing, why has this suddenly started happening. Can anyone help?

If you have resolved the problem, then I wouldn't worry about it.

What browser and O/S are you using?.

Might pay to run a malware - security program check, and see if that picks anything up!.

am using windows 7, msn. I did a full scan and this does not help. I use norton security. It has only recently started doing this.
