What is the best free software for scanning and emailing documents?

Most scanners come with some sort of inbuilt software for doing that, look in your scanner programs.

Exactly - my Brother all-in-one allows me the choice of scan to email. When I do, the scan appears in a new message window of Outlook (my default email prog).
