Cant access windows update

For some time now I cant update windows or IE. I'm running XP home and I get a cant display this page message. I cant even access Microsoft.com - same message. I have turned on everything relevant in services and dont believe I have any viruses.

Try going to command prompt and type in ipconfig /flushdns.Then press enter on the keyboard. It should tell you dns cache has been flushed if so reboot and see if it makes any difference.

See if there's any more information (or another error code) on your problem in your Windows Update.log. The Update.log entries are in chronological order and your most recent experience will be at the bottom of the list.

Are you updating via "Windows Update" tool or direct from website ?
If you are using "Windows Update" tool try directstrong text from website

If you also can't connect to microsoft.com, either, then check your firewall or other 'blocking' security program. If nothing found try downloading free malwarebytes ,update and run a full scan.

Also check that a proxy server has not been enabled. Tools- internet options- connections tab- lan settings and untick the box (if ticked) for use a proxy server for.... .

and similar for weeks. Flushdns said it was done but no change. Use malwarebytes weekly and spybot. proxy server not turned on. Tried to access update from various links.

clicked link and got "IE cannot display this page" screen - same one I get trying to get any microsoft page.

Have you tried malwarebytes yet .
or try with your Firewall turned off.

run malwarebytes and tried with firewall off.
This in diagnostics
warn HTTP: Error 12007 connecting to www.microsoft.com: The server name or address could not be resolved
warn HTTPS: Error 12007 connecting to www.microsoft.com: The server name or address could not be resolved
warn FTP (Passive): Error 12007 connecting to ftp.microsoft.com: The server name or address could not be resolved
warn FTP (Active): Error 12007 connecting to ftp.microsoft.com: The server name or address could not be resolved
warn HTTPS: Error 12037 connecting to www.passport.net: The date in the certificate is invalid or has expired
