Windows Live Mail Deleted Items

In Outlook Express, I could select an option to empty the 'deleted items' on exit. I can't find this option on Windows Live Mail.Can anyone please point me in the right direction. In searching the Forums I have found a solution for Windows Mail using Tools but with Live Mail the Tools heading is greyed out.

For those who may be interested, I have found the answer from another forum: For manual deletion, if you click on the Deleted Items folder in the Folder List you should get an X after the folder name if there are messages on the said folder. By clicking the X, all messages on the folder will be deleted and the folder will be empty. The same works for the Junk E-mail folder.
