Although my computer shuts down correctly most of the time, after it's been on for a while and I've visited a few sites or even used emails etc,it won't shut down and I have to hold in the on/off button to close. I'm on XP. Can anyone advise please?

I had that problem last year and installing Microsoft User Profile Hive Cleanup Service UPHClean has cured it for me, but there are other causes if you read further down on the page from microsoft.
