No sound when downloading Video Clips.

From today, when I download Video Clips there is no sound. I have also noticed that the sound Icon which sits in the System Tray is missing. Can someone please help me? MY OS is Windows XP. Many thanks, Garden Nome.

Have you looke in Control Panel >Sounds and audio Devices what does that show?

Right Click My Computer/Properties/Hardware/Device Manager. Do you have any yellow icons besides Sound. If so uninstall that item and restart your pc, then retest after it finds the hardware and loads drivers for it
