i've upgraded my 64mb (old) graphics card to 1gb ati radeon 5400 series and the processor to intel i3.

i'm connecting the vga monitor to dvi of graphics card (using dvi to vga converter), hence the hdmi output is free.

i need to connect my speakers or amp (5.1) to this hdmi port for better audio experience. (i'm nw using realtek onboard motherboard audio in 5.1 config).

my question is how can i connect it?

plz reply :)

If they both have HDMI sound should work by getting a Proper HDMI cable that carry's sound . Any other way you will need a Sound cable connected from Speaker socket on PC to Audio in on TV

thank u for ur reply.

but could you explain which type of sound cable ( i use normal red-white line-in cables for the connections from my pc to amp) should i use?

ie, with one end the hdmi(for audio out) and the other for the amp (for audio in ) ?

does it need any device between them?
